Prof. Raymond Miralbell


Prof. Raymond Miralbell - radiation oncologist trained from 1979 through 1989 in the University of Barcelona and the University of Harvard. In 1997 Prof. Miralbell became Doctor of Medicine and Privat Docent (PhD) at the University of Geneva-CH.

From 2006 to 2019 Prof. Miralbell was the Chairman and Associated Professor of the Radiation Oncology Division, at the University Hospital of Geneva (Switzerland).

Prof. Raymond Miralbell is the Chairman of the Radiation Oncology Department at Centro Médico Teknon, Barcelona since 1999.

From 2000 to 2008 he was the Chairman of the Swiss Proton Users Group. Since January 2019, he is the Medical Director of the Centro de Protonterapia Quironsalud in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid.

Raymond Miralbell is the member of various societies and organizations: American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology; Radiation Research Society; European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology; Swiss Society for Radiobiology and Medical Physics; Scientific Association of Swiss Radiation Oncology (SASRO) and Founding member of the European Scientific Institute.

Prof. Miralbell’s main interests are prostate cancer and breast cancer, Imaging for radiotherapy treatment planning, treatment precision optimization through image guided radiotherapy, tracing of the biochemical relapse after curative surgery or radiotherapy, prognostic value of hypoxic markers (pathological and imaging); quality of life studies in fragile patients on androgen deprivation, biological modeling of prostate cancer response to irradiation and fractionation sensitivity, biological modeling for salvage radiotherapy after post-irradiation local failure and SBRT of prostate, breast, and oligometastatic tumors.
