for Foreign Citizens

 

Kutaisi International University offers internationally competitive, English-language and English-Georgian Undergraduate programs in:


Progam

Annual Tuition Fee

Computer Science (BSc)

5,500 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Management (BSc)

5,500 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Mathematics & Applications: Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Scientific Computing, and Financial Mathematics (BSc)

1,000 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Design (BSc)

4,000 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Psychology (BSc)

4,000 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Law (BSc) 

4,000 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

Medical Doctor Program

12,000 EUR equivalent, in accordance with the exchange rate set by the National Bank of Georgia of the day of payment.

 



Enrollment in the Undergraduate programs without the passing the Unified National Examinations is permitted for the following persons:


1.     Foreign citizens and stateless persons who have received full general or equivalent education in a foreign country


2.     Foreign citizens and stateless persons (except for persons who are dual citizens of Georgia) who have received full general or equivalent education in Georgia through foreign/international general education programs recognized by Georgia;


3.     Foreign citizens who study/have studied and received credits/qualifications in a foreign country at a higher education institution recognized in accordance with the legislation of the country;

Registration and interview

 

Please refer to the list of required documents based on the applicant’s category: 

1.    Mandatory documents for foreign citizens who have received full general or equivalent education in a foreign country:


·   International Student Application Form;

·   Cover letter (no more than 500 words);

·   Photograph (3x4);

·   Copy of passport;

·   A copy of the full general or equivalent education document and its supplement obtained in a foreign country;

·   English language proficiency certificate (minimum B1 level). The applicant's English language skills can be confirmed by the following certificates: TOEFLIELTSVersant by Pearson English CertificateDuolingo English Test (If you have another certificate, please contact Apply@kiu.edu.ge for consultation).

 

 

 

2.    Mandatory documents for foreign citizens who have received full general or equivalent education in Georgia through foreign/international general education programs recognized by Georgia:

 

·   International Student Application Form;
·   Cover letter (no more than 500 words);

·   Photograph (3x4);

·   Copy of passport;

·   Certificate issued by the Public Service Development Agency regarding not possessing Georgian citizenship1 (Mandatory only for entrants who have received full general or equivalent education in Georgia through foreign/international general education programs recognized by Georgia);

·   A copy of the full general or equivalent education document and its supplement received in Georgia through foreign/international general education programs recognized by Georgia;

·   English language proficiency certificate (minimum B1 level). The applicant's English language skills can be confirmed by the following certificates: TOEFLIELTSVersant by Pearson English CertificateDuolingo English Test (If you have another certificate, please contact Apply@kiu.edu.ge for consultation).


1 The certificate is required for the second stage of the enrollment procedures and must be submitted to the LEPL – National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. The certificate must be issued no more than one month prior to the registration of the application at the Center.

 

 


3.    Mandatory documents for foreign citizens who study/have studied and received credits/qualifications in a foreign country at a higher education institution recognized in accordance with the legislation of the country:


·   International Student Application Form;

·   Cover letter (no more than 500 words);

·   Photograph (3x4);

·   Copy of passport;

·   A copy of the document certifying the credits obtained in a higher education institution of a foreign country (academic transcript);

·   English language proficiency certificate (minimum B1 level). The applicant's English language skills can be confirmed by the following certificates: TOEFL, IELTS, Versant by Pearson English Certificate, Duolingo English Test (If you have another certificate, please contact Apply@kiu.edu.ge for consultation).

 
 Note:
For documents issued in a foreign language (not Georgian) a notarially certified Georgian translation is required, unless the applicant uses the paid recognition service (in this case, the service fee is paid when submitting documents).

The deadline for submitting documents for admission to the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year is August 15, 2025


 

Online Interview:

All undergraduate applicants wishing to study at Kutaisi International University must undergo an online interview in English.

 

After successful completion of the online interview, Kutaisi International University will issue a consent letter on the possibility of enrolling the applicant on their chosen undergraduate program, granted that the applicant successfully completes the remaining procedures in the admission process.

 

 

II Step

Recognition of Foreign Education

 

After receiving a consent letter from the University, the applicant must apply to the LEPL National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (hereinafter referred to as the Center) for the recognition of the educational document issued in a foreign country. The application form and detailed information can be found here.

The Center makes the decision on granting the right to study at Kutaisi International University without passing the Unified National Examinations to the applicant and informs the University regarding the decision.

 


Paid Service for Education Recognition

After receiving written consent from the University on the successful completion of the first step of the admission process, the applicant may request that the university to undertake the Foreign Education Recognition process at the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement on the applicant’s behalf.

In this case, the applicant must cover the service fee of 80 EUR within one week.

Upon the submission of a receipt for payment of the service fee, the University will begin to bring the applicant’s documents in compliance with the regulations in Georgia. This includes notarial translation of the applicant’s documents, payment of the fee for the Foreign Education Recognition service, submission of relevant documentation to the LEPL - National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement as well as cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia to grant a person the right to study at Kutaisi International University without passing the Unified National Examinations.

 

 


 III Step

Enrollment

 

Once the applicant is granted the right to study at Kutaisi International University by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement without passing the Unified National Examinations, the Rector's decree for enrollment at Kutaisi International University shall be issued.


Before enrolling at Kutaisi International University, the applicant must sign a learning agreement with the University.

The student must pay the tuition fee in accordance with the current regulations at the university and submit a receipt confirming the payment. 



Visa Documentation


After covering the tuition fee, the student shall be sent an invitation letter for visa procedures. The student must apply for a D3 Immigration, Long term study visa for Georgia. For more information please visit: geoconsul.gov.ge/en/entering-georgia

 

 

Health Insurance


It is mandatory for foreign citizens to own student health insurance for the full period of holding active student status at the University. If necessary, consult us for advice on the purchase of an insurance policy: international@kiu.edu.ge ; apply@kiu.edu.ge
