Starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, Kutaisi International University (KIU), in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II, will offer an English-taught Bachelor's program in Design.
Graduates will be awarded double diplomas from both KIU and the University of Naples Federico II, providing them with an internationally recognized qualification.
The program welcomes both Georgian and international students, fostering a diverse and globally-oriented learning environment.
Degree Awarded: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Design
Diploma: Graduates will receive a Double Diploma from both Kutaisi International University and the University of Naples Federico II

Compulsory Subjects for Admission:
Compulsory Subjects: Georgian Language - 25%; English Language - 70%
Compulsory-Elective Subjects: Fine and Applied Arts - 25%, or History - 25%, or Mathematics 25%.

The Bachelor's program prepares highly skilled professionals equipped with critical and creative thinking abilities, technical expertise, and operational knowledge. Graduates will develop the capacity to apply these competencies in design development and management, with a strong focus on social change and impact.
A Multidisciplinary Approach to Design:
The program provides an interdisciplinary foundation, integrating product design (product creation, usability, material systems), service design (accessibility, inclusivity, communication), and spatial design (culture, art, hospitality, residential, and entertainment spaces).
Educational Model & Learning Approach:
The curriculum is structured around fundamental, professional, and cross-disciplinary knowledge, integrating practical and cooperative learning models such as “learning by making” and “learning by others,” which emphasize collaborative engagement between students and faculty.
Program Structure & Curriculum Focus:
• First Year: Fundamentals of design thinking and exhibition design, combined with theoretical and technical coursework.
• Second Year: Exploration of innovative design methodologies and experimental approaches.
• Third Year: Applied research in social design, urban spaces, and spatial environments.
A mandatory internship will be conducted through a selective interview process, ensuring that students receive practical, hands-on training at relevant institutions, organizations, and companies.
