Prof. Dr. Rudi Zagst

Rudi Zagst studied business mathematics at the University of Ulm. After his dissertation in the field of stochastic dynamic optimization, he started his professional career at HypoVereinsbank AG. There, he worked as Head of Product Development in the lnstitutional Investment Management before transferring to Allfonds International Asset Management GmbH as Head of Consulting and finally becoming Managing Director of Risklab GmbH - Private Research Institute for Financial Studies in 1997.


Since 1992, Prof. Zagst has held various teaching assignments at the Universities of Augsburg, St. Gallen, Munich, Toronto, Ulm and Singapore. After completing his habilitation in 2000 at the University of Ulm, Prof. Zagst accepted a call to the Technical University of Munich as Professor of Mathematical Finance in 2001, where he holds the Chair of Mathematical Finance and is Head of the ERGO Center of Excellence in lnsurance. His research focuses on financial engineering, risk and asset management.


In 2003, Prof. Zagst was appointed a second member of the Faculty of Economics. Since 2004 he has been Deputy Chairman of the joint elite degree program "Finance & Information Management" of the Technical University of Munich and the University of Bayreuth.


Prof. Zagst works on a voluntary basis in the Munich Financial Center Initiative (FPMI) of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, in the Advisory Board of the Bavarian Research Foundation and as the Executive Board member of Ecuadorhilfe Stuttgart e.V.


In 2007, Prof. Zagst was honored by the magazine Unicum Beruf with the award "Professor of the Year in 2007" for his commitment to a practical education of his students.




Prof. Dr. Akaki Kheladze

Dr. Akaki Kheladze is a Professor of Management at Kutaisi International University, (Kutaisi, Georgia) and at Grenoble School of Management, GEM (Grenoble, France). He also acts as a distinguished fellow of New Westminster College (Vancouver, British Columbia). Since its foundation, was a Rector at Bank of Georgia University, founded by the Bank of Georgia which is the biggest international player on the regional market and is LSE listed premium 250 company.

 

Previously, he joined Tbilisi State University as a Dean of School of Economic and Business. Dr. Kheladze holds a dual PhD degree in Management from Caucasus University (Tbilisi, Georgia) and Georgia State University (Atlanta, Georgia, USA). He possesses more than 10 years of teaching experience, providing lectures in the universities and private/public institutions at local and international level. His expertise covers provision of training in the field of strategic and project management, decision making, leadership, management concepts, Business plan development and etc.

In addition, Dr. Kheladze was providing practical consultancy in above mentioned areas. Apart from the teaching activities, Dr. Kheladze worked on the managerial positions in the various private organizations.

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. Ramaz Botchorishvili


Professor Ramaz Botchorishvili is KIU Program Supervisor for Mathematics. Up to this point, he has had ample pleasure working as a researcher, a professor, and a dean at various academic institutions in Europe such as Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Georgia),  National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology  (France), Laboratory of Jacques Luis-Lions at University of Pierre and Marie Curie (France), Fraunhofer Institute of Algorithms and Scientific Computing (Germany), Institute of Energy and Climate Research at Forschungszentrum Juelich (Germany).

For over a decade Prof. Botchorishvili has served as the Dean of Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and as the Dean of Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at Tbilisi State University. In this position, he has gained extensive experience in developing and managing bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs.
On the whole, Prof. Botchorishvili is systematically creating new projects and acquiring grants to open up new opportunities for his students. He has been integral to initiating bachelor degree programs of University Paris 8 (France) and San Diego State University (United States) at TSU.

Moreover, he has helped establish SMART AtmoSim Laboratory of TSU and Forschungszentrum Juelich. Some of his other contributions include projects funded by Swiss National Science Foundation, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Volkswagen Foundation, Erasmus+, and TEMPUS.
Prof. Ramaz Botchorishvili received his Candidate of Science degree in 1989 and his Doctor of Science degree in 1996. He holds an award of Georgian Mathematical Union (1994), fellowship of the President of Georgia (1998), NATO Fellowship (1999), WSEAS F-and-B best paper award (2009), and Medal of Tbilisi State University (2016).

In line with his academic interests, Prof. Botchorishvili has held the position of Chair of Numerical Analysis and Computational Technologies at TSU. His current research interests reside in numerical partial differential equations for deep artificial neural networks and applications for environmental modeling.
