The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, Mark Clayton visited Kutaisi International University

On April 22, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, Mark Clayton visited Kutaisi International University. During the visit, the Ambassador met with the KIU administration and academic team, as well as got acquainted with the University campus and the educational process. Mark Clayton delivered a public lecture about "UK-Georgian relations" for the students of Kutaisi International University. The meeting with the students was interactive and the young people were able to ask interesting questions.

"Today, the Ambassador of Great Britain, Mr. Mark Clayton, visited us at Kutaisi International University. We are honored to have Mr. Clayton visiting us. At the meeting we discussed issues of strategic cooperation, the development of joint projects of the KIU and the British Council and future prospects," - said the Rector of the university Alexander Tevzadze.

Kutaisi International University and the British Government have a long-term partnership; the University has signed a cooperation agreement with the British Council.

"Today, the British Ambassador to Georgia, Mr. Mark Clayton, visited Kutaisi International University. Kutaisi International University and the British Government have a long-term partnership; the University has signed a cooperation agreement with the British Council, which delivers English language courses at KIU. This is a very important partnership because our students have a unique opportunity to attend lectures delivered in English by British and Georgian specialists. During the meeting, we also discussed the future cooperation of KIU with British universities," - said the Chancellor of the University Magda Magradze.

"I am delighted to come to Kutaisi International University; this visit is extremely important. I'm proud that the British Council is involved in teaching English at the University. I had a meeting with the students, where we discussed the UK-Georgian relations," - said Mark Clayton, the British Ambassador to Georgia.

Last month, Kutaisi International University (KIU) resumed the educational process in auditoriums. The university maintains safety measures and students have the opportunity to study and live on campus under Covid regulations. Currently, educational process in KIU is conducted in three English-language programs - Management, Mathematics and Computer Science.
