Greek scientist Dr. Konstantinos Kokkinos, Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly, has joined the team of Kutaisi International University (KIU). As an invited professor, Dr. Kokkinos will be teaching courses in the Bachelor's program in Computer Science, including Fundamentals of Programming and Introduction to Informatics I.
Dr. Konstantinos Kokkinos was awarded a B.Sc. in Physics, from the Aristotle’s University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1989), a M.Sc. and a PhD in Computer Science from C.S. Dept. Western Michigan University, U.S.A. (1995 and 2002 respectively). Dr. Kokkinos is an active member of IEEE Society, and an OpenMI-Association member.
Dr. Kokkinos's current and prior participation in research and innovation projects includes [6 NSF] (USA funded), [4 Horizon, 3 FP, 1 Marie Curie, 5 Erasmus+] (Europe funded) and 6 Greek national funded.
Moreover since 2020, he serves one of the funding members of the INVEST European University Alliance, one of the 61 European Universities representing 7 universities geographically distributed in the whole European continent.
Dr. Kokkinos serves for many years the research community as a reviewer of several Elsevier, IEEE, Springer and MDPI journals. His major research interests include Decision Support Systems, Fuzzy Logic and Systems, Fuzzy Cognitive Maps, Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Integrated Modelling and Simulation, Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing Methodologies, Water and Environmental Sustainability, Dynamic Resilience of Ecosystems, Network Congestion, Load Balancing and Modern Programming Languages & Web Services.
Furthermore, Dr. Kokkinos has published over 70 journal and conference papers.
