Prof. Luis Seco started his academic career at Princeton University in 1985, and landed at the University of Toronto in 1992 after a short stay at the California Institute of Technology.

Prof. Seco currently serves as the director of RiskLab, a University research laboratory established in 1996. RiskLab conducts research in quantitative finance, with special focus on asset management, machine learning, data science, credit risk, blockchains and the economic aspects of COVID-19.

Additionally, Prof. Seco holds the position of director at MMF (Master's Program in Mathematical Finance), which was established in 1998 at the University of Toronto. Ranked 7th worldwide in the Risk.net rankings, MMF remains at the forefront of quantitative finance education.
