"Fundamentals of Cyber Security" Training Course in Session at KIU

The Training course "Fundamentals of Cyber Security" is being conducted successfully at Kutaisi International University, with over 100 participants selected based on their submitted applications to engage in a program developed by Georgian and German experts in the field. The course covers topics such as: Infrastructure and Security Assessment; Web Security and Resilience; Cloud, Mobile, and Application Security Penetration; Testing and Forensics.

Successful participants who complete the course will receive a certificate from the Kutaisi International University (KIU). Due to considerable interest, "Fundamentals of Cyber Security" is conducted in multiple stages, with the second cohort currently immersed in the program. Attendees from various regions in Georgia will reside in KIU's student accommodation throughout the training period.

The project is funded by the USAID Industry-led Skills Development Program, aimed at developing a highly skilled workforce in the field of cyber security. As part of the project framework, three courses of varying complexity levels are planned.


About KIU

Kutaisi International University (KIU) is located in Kutaisi, in the environmentally clean area spread out on 160 hectares of land, surrounded by a forest. The campus includes contemporary academic buildings, libraries, cafeterias, well-equipped sports facilities, and a comprehensive road infrastructure, the communal workspaces, student housing, as well as housing for academic and administrative staff. The development and construction of the university city are progressing step by step. Kutaisi International University (KIU) opened its doors to the first cohort of students in 2020-2021 academic year for three English-language undergraduate programs (Management, Mathematics and Computer Science). Currently, approximately 1,200 students are studying at the university.

KIU collaborates with Technical University of Munich (TUM International GmbH and TUM), a leading European university. Funding for Kutaisi International University is provided by the 'Cartu' charity fund, with a total budget of up to 1 billion euros.
