The eighth final (mini football) of the University Sports Olympiad was held on June 14 in Tbilisi. Kutaisi International University football team participated in the Olympiad for the first time this year. KIU students competed with one of the favorite teams of this year’s tournament. The KIU students put up a decent resistance to the Georgian Technical University football club, however, the game ended 1:0 in favor of the rivals.
The University Sports Olympiad is organized by the University Sports Federation. Several players of Kutaisi International University team earned special praise from the latter in the eighth final. The federation offered them the opportunity to play for the university football team. Negotiations are underway.
