Kutaisi International University (KIU) begins the 2024-2025 academic year with a new fifth cohort of students. Applicants with the best academic results have consistently expressed their desire to study in KIU's English-language undergraduate programs in mathematics, management, and computer science. Approximately 300 candidates have surpassed the high score threshold set by the university. KIU continues to rank at the top among universities based on the average competitive scores of the unified national exams, once again leading among 19 state higher education institutions.
Among the first-year students at Kutaisi International University are gold and silver medalists, members of the Georgian team for the International Educational Olympiads, and winners and prize-winners of various innovation competitions. Notably, the majority of students enrolled at KIU (98.3%) listed Kutaisi International University as their first or second choice when registering for the unified national exams.
To ensure access to higher education, KIU has established a financial aid program and offers various types of funding and scholarships to students. Alongside their busy academic schedules, students actively participate in exchange and internship programs, engage in various professional clubs, and attend summer schools that promote student startups and innovations, as well as competitions and Olympiads.
KIU provides a unique infrastructure and educational programs for both Georgian and international students. Students have the opportunity to live and study in a well-equipped university campus, receive high-quality education, and participate in local and international programs and projects alongside Georgian and foreign professors. As a "green field university," KIU is modeled after the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and was established in partnership with TUM International GmbH.
In addition to undergraduate programs, KIU offers a master’s program in Finance and Information Management (FIM) as well as a doctoral school. In the near future, the university aims to launch new academic programs. Kutaisi International University (KIU) is the largest charitable mega-project and the only international state higher education institution established in the history of independent Georgia. The vision for the university comes from Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family, with the international charity fund "Cartu" investing one billion euros in its development.
