Matthew Zabka has been a visiting professor at Kutaisi International University since 2024, in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. Cloud State University in 2007, followed by a master's degree in statistics from the University of Michigan in 2012. In 2016, he completed his PhD in mathematics at Wayne State University. Since then, he has been a professor at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Dr. Zabka's research focuses on the applications of algebraic topology to data analysis. His work explores random cohomology operations and the use of topological data analysis techniques on novel types of data. He also conducts research in the pedagogy of high school data science education.
