The award ceremony for "M Vector" - Mathematical and Algorithmic Thinking Competition, organized by the Association for Educational Policy and Research, was held at Kutaisi International University.
The Minister of Education Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the Rector of Kutaisi International University Professor Alexander Tevzadze and the Executive Director of the “Cartu” Foundation Niko Chkhetiani awarded the winners.
The competition started in March; about 500 students from the graduating classes took part in it. 73 participants advanced to the finals. The first, second and third places were distributed among 18 participants. Kutaisi International University established a special prize for all eighteen winners. The top five students will take part in the International STEM Summer Camp next year.
Prior to the award ceremony, an information tour was organized for project participants in the KIU Student City, where students and their parents had the opportunity to personally get familiar with the University Campus, study and residential buildings in person.
About the competition: "M Vector" is a qualitatively new format for the development of mathematical and algorithmic thinking, tailored to the modern challenges and trends, focused on graduating students. "M Vector" offers participants not only to demonstrate mathematical and algorithmic thinking and deepen their knowledge, but also to find interesting ways to solve specific mathematical problems with this knowledge. “M Vector” is intended for 12th graders and entrants, who love Mathematics, however, the project does not establish the strict regulations, even 11th graders can participate in it.
