Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted an International Contemporary Art Festival "Caravan Art Forum Kutaisi".
The festival opened with welcoming remarks from KIU Chancellor, Dr. Levan Kopaliani, and Dean of the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design Mariam Bochorishvili.
An opening programme was presented by the organisers of the event, Nino Metreveli, Head of the International Association for the Development of Contemporary Art, and Shalva Khakhanashvili, Founder of Caravansarai. Several local government representatives attended the event along with the Mayor of Kutaisi, Davit Eremeishvili.
With the theme of "Urban Landscapes", this year's three-day conference featured projects by artists, photographers, art historians, and curators from around the world. Throughout each year, the forum explores both the theoretical and visual aspects of contemporary art.
This program also included an academic conference for KIU's Architecture and Design students, organized by the KIU School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Design.
The 61st Venice Biennale and the Georgian Pavilion, which showcases the international project "Modern Argonauts - Georgia's Crossroads", have been discussed by international and Georgian experts at the conference.
The forum was supported by Kutaisi International University, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, Kutaisi City Hall, and Creative Georgia.
