Professor Dr. Alexander Meskhi has been re-elected President of the Georgian Mathematical for a second term

Professor Dr. Alexander Meskhi, Head of the Giorgi Nikoladze Scientific Research Centre at Kutaisi International University (KIU), Corresponding Member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, and Professor of KIU’s School of Mathematics, has been re-elected President of the Georgian Mathematical Union (GMU) for a second term. He will continue to lead the Union for four years.

 

Since 2022, Professor Meskhi has served as the President of the Georgian Mathematical Union. At the Georgian Mathematical Union's Congress in Batumi, the delegates reflected on the work undertaken over the past four years and unanimously endorsed Professor Meskhi for a second term. KIU Associate Professor Dr. Anzor Beridze was also elected Vice-President of the Union.

 

Professor Meskhi has published more than 150 scientific articles and eight monographs. Among his awards are the Euler Prize of the German Mathematical Society, a special medal from the Kazakhstan Mathematical Society, and the Prize of the Georgian Mathematical Union. In addition, he has been awarded the Andria Razmadze Prize by the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
