Kutaisi Technology Hub hosted the closing event of the Innovation and Startup Acceleration Summer School, a joint project of Kutaisi International University (KIU) and the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The event opened with welcoming remarks by Kutaisi International University Executive Director/Rector of, Mr. Vakhtang Tsagareli, and Chairman of the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), Mr. Avtandil Kasradze.
Over the course of several weeks, participants developed innovative project concepts based on their own ideas, presenting them to a jury at the end of the program. As part of the initiative, KIU students had the opportunity to explore the basics of entrepreneurship and innovation, and gain practical experience in developing a startup venture, from developing an initial concept to developing a viable business model. In recognition of their participation, all participants received certificates.
Since 2021, more than 250 KIU students have participated in the summer school as part of the ongoing cooperation between KIU and GITA. The program is held annually and is designed to promote innovation among young people, as well as to encourage their greater participation in Georgia's startup and innovation ecosystem.
