Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted the international summer school Heritage, Science, Archaeology and Modern Technologies, bringing together students from Georgia and leading universities in Azerbaijan, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
The summer school was officially opened by Professor David Lordkipanidze, Director General of the Georgian National Museum.
The opening ceremony was attended by KIU Executive Director/Rector Vakhtang Tsagareli and KIU Chancellor Dr. Levan Kopaliani.
Throughout the programme, participants engaged with leading Georgian and international experts, who shared their knowledge and professional experience across a range of interdisciplinary fields. Students explored the growing role of modern technologies in scientific research, with particular emphasis on the application of artificial intelligence to research and innovation.
The programme also addressed a number of fundamental topics, including the study of natural history and natural heritage, the integration of advanced technologies into archaeological research, and contemporary approaches, challenges and best practices in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
The project was organised by Academia Europaea Tbilisi Knowledge Hub and the Georgian National Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
