Kutaisi International University (KIU) and the State Security Academy Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Kutaisi International University (KIU) and the State Security Academy of Georgia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that aims to foster collaboration through educational programmes, professional training courses, and research initiatives.

The memorandum was signed by Kutaisi International University Executive Director/Rector, Mr. Vakhtang Tsagareli, and the Rector of the State Security Academy, Ms. Sophio Abulashvili. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of both institutions, including KIU Chancellor, Dr. Levan Kopaliani, and Academy Vice Rector, Mr. Davit Gaprindashvili.

This partnership will focus on developing innovative cybersecurity projects leveraging the University's strengths in STEM disciplines. The objective of these initiatives is to support the development of new solutions to emerging digital challenges. This partnership is therefore of strategic significance at both the national and international levels, contributing to the advancement of cybersecurity education, research, and innovation.

As a part of the visit, the Academy representatives toured KIU's ultramodern campus, which features academic and research facilities built to international standards, fully equipped student dormitories, library, conference facilities, cafeterias, sports grounds, and recreational areas designed to enhance the student experience.
