The KIU Capella, Kutaisi International University’s (KIU) student choir claimed second place and was awarded a Silver Medal at the 10th National Competition of Children’s and Youth Choral Ensembles of Georgia.
Held annually, the National Competition of Choral Ensembles seeks to promote academic choral music, preserve Georgia’s rich singing traditions, and support the continued development of choral ensembles. Both rounds of this year’s competition took place at the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
This achievement marks the third time on which the KIU Capella has been recognised among the competition’s prize winners, having previously received both silver and bronze medals.
As part of its commitment to supporting student initiatives and fostering a dynamic educational environment, Kutaisi International University (KIU) established a student grants program, through which the KIU Capella was founded. Since its establishment, the KIU Capella has participated in all major university-organised youth events.
