Kutaisi International University (KIU) welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, H.E. Ashot Smbatyan.
During the visit, a working meeting was held with the Executive Director/Rector of Kutaisi International University, Mr. Vakhtang Tsagareli. The principal objective of the meeting was to strengthen ties between the two countries in the fields of education and science, as well as to deepen regional partnerships within the framework of KIU’s international relations strategy.
The event was attended by the KIU Chancellor, Dr. Levan Kopaliani; Head of the International Relations Office of KIU, Ms. Mariam Naneishvili; and the First Secretary of the Embassy of Armenia in Georgia, Mr. Aren Arakelyan.
Mr. Vakhtang Tsagareli presented the Ambassador with a detailed overview of the current international academic programmes at Kutaisi International University, its research priorities, and the unique opportunities the University offers to both domestic and international students.
At the meeting, prospects for future cooperation were discussed in detail, including support for joint academic initiatives, the promotion of exchange programmes for students and academic staff, and the implementation of concrete educational projects between the two neighbouring countries.
As part of the visit, H. E. Ashot Smbatyan, accompanied by the Embassy delegation, toured the ultramodern, European-standard campus of Kutaisi International University.
