Kutaisi International University (KIU) Hosts the First Kutaisi International Youth Forum

Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted the first Kutaisi International Youth Forum. The event was opened with a welcome address by Kutaisi International University Chancellor, Dr. Levan Kopaliani.

The forum brought together young people from across different countries with the aim of sharing experience in youth policy and deepening international cooperation.

The invited guests and foreign delegates were addressed by Mayor of Kutaisi, Mr. David Eremeishvili, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Dr. Giorgi Volski, Chairperson of the Education, Science and Youth affairs Parliamentary Committee, Ms. Mariam Lashkhi, Parliamentary Delegate for Kutaisi, Dr. Zaza Lominadze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Mr. Levan Ghirsiashvili, and other representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government.

Over three days, foreign guests introduced Georgian participants to the educational opportunities and exchange programmes available in their home countries. Young people from European cities twinned with Kutaisi took part in the forum alongside their Georgian peers.

Panel discussions were held as part of the programme, during which delegates discussed youth policy priorities, educational reforms, and municipal programmes supporting students' professional development and active participation in civic life. Educational tours of Kutaisi were arranged for the foreign guests, who also took part in events held as part of the Kutaisi City Day celebrations.
