Kutaisi International University and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Establish Close Cooperation

 24/04/2026

Kutaisi International University (KIU) recently welcomed a delegation from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University — UMCS (Lublin, Poland). The two universities agreed to support each other's student programmes and to carry out joint research.

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Acting Rector of Kutaisi International University (KIU) and Director of Kutaisi University Campus, Mr. Vakhtang Tsagareli and Rector of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Professor Dr. Radosław Dobrowolski.

The partnership will open up new opportunities for students and staff alike. It will support international mobility, joint seminars and conferences, and the sharing of knowledge and experience between the two institutions. Research collaboration will also be a key part of the agreement. Through exchange programmes students will be able to take part in cultural activities and study in a truly international and modern academic environment.

After the meeting, the visiting delegation had the chance to tour KIU's ultramodern campus, including its academic and residential buildings, conference spaces, sports facilities, recreational areas, and more.

For KIU, this Memorandum is an important step in its internationalisation strategy — one that opens new doors for both staff and students to become part of the wider European academic and scientific community.
