Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted Mr. Lu Penghong, General Director of Huawei Tbilisi, on a working visit.
The meeting was attended by the Acting Rector of Kutaisi International University , Vakhtang Tsagareli, and the KIU Chancellor, Levan Kopaliani. The parties discussed key areas outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding, including student participation in international competitions and masterclasses; the creation of professional employment and internship opportunities; the establishment of technological laboratories at KIU; the professional development of academic staff; and the implementation of major innovative educational projects.
In 2025, Huawei hosted the Huawei Seeds for the Future program in China, with the participation of four students from Kutaisi International University. As part of this initiative, students from KIU’s Schools of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Management participated in the global corporate program Seeds for the Future in China, fully funded by Huawei.
The Memorandum of Understanding between Kutaisi International University (KIU) and Huawei was signed in February 2025. Under the agreement, KIU students and academic staff are granted access to cutting-edge technologies, resources, and educational initiatives. In addition, students are offered opportunities for internships and employment within Huawei’s global corporate structure.
