The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) paid a working visit to Kutaisi on February 11-12. During a visit, a meeting was held on February 11 at Kutaisi International University. The meeting was attended by KIU Rector Alexander Tevzadze, “Cartu” Foundation Project Director Vakhtang Tsagareli, Kutaisi Mayor Ioseb Khakhaleishvili, Director of GIZ Program “Good Governance for Local Development in the South Caucasus” Christoph Bayar, the Head of the Georgian component of the same program Akbar Mohabati and the program expert Akaki Rukhadze.
The purpose of the visit to the region is to promote local economic development, transform Kutaisi into a business-friendly city, build a platform for dialogue between the municipality, business and civil society, form a relevant team, promote the development of former industrial areas, increase the attractiveness of Kutaisi as a regional center, based on international experience.
