Kutaisi International University (KIU) continues to expand its network of strategic partners across Asia. Vakhtang Tsagareli, Acting Rector of KIU and Director of Kutaisi University Campus, along with Giorgi Pipia, Head of KIU's International Relations Department, visited Junglim Architecture - one of South Korea's most renowned architectural companies and held working meetings with executive leadership.
Vakhtang Tsagareli introduced the Korean partners to the university's evolving ecosystem, the vision for campus development, and the concept of establishing a synergistic environment that integrates education and entrepreneurship. Representatives from Junglim Architecture expressed considerable interest in these initiatives and indicated their readiness to engage and leverage their expertise in creating innovative spaces on the KIU campus. The meeting was attended by Mikheil Tigishvili, Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of South Korea.
Collaboration between KIU and Junglim Architecture will be diversified, encompassing both the enhancement of the university's infrastructure and the strengthening of its educational and research ecosystem. Within the framework of this partnership, joint projects, masterclasses, and student and faculty exchange programs will be implemented, further reinforcing the university's strategic objectives and contributing to KIU's positioning in the global context.
Moreover, Junglim Architecture will actively participate in the development of KIU's long-term spatial and entrepreneurial development master plan, which will further consolidate the university's ecosystem. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop specific collaboration frameworks and model pilot projects.
Founded in 1967, Junglim Architecture is recognised both in Korea and internationally for having completed over a thousand large-scale projects. The company's work is grounded in a "total design" approach that integrates spatial planning, functional logic, sustainability, and design.
