The KIU delegation met with the academic leadership of Tokai University’s School of Medicine, including Professor Kenji Okami, Dean of the School; Professor Masahiko Watanabe, Executive Director; and other leading professors. Irakli Shengelia, Head of KIU's School of Medicine, participated remotely in the working meetings held at the University of Tokyo's School of Medicine.

Particular interest was generated by the Clinical Skills Center, which features Kyoto Kagaku simulators and standardized assessment methodologies.

The visit highlighted potential opportunities for future collaboration concerning the Kutaisi Hadron Therapy Center, which is currently in the planning phase at KIU. This center represents a promising avenue for cooperation in the fields of proton therapy, nuclear medicine, and clinical research.

Tokai University’s School of Medicine is a recognized academic clinical institution in Japan that integrates medical education, advanced clinical practice, and scientific research in such fields as radiation oncology, genomic medicine, neurosurgery, and simulation-based education.

It should be noted that within the framework of the KIU delegation's visit to Japan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kutaisi International University, Kutaisi University Campus, and Tokai University (Japan).
