Second Graduation Ceremony Held at Kutaisi International University (KIU)

Kutaisi International University (KIU) held its second large-scale graduation ceremony for graduating students.

The event was opened with a welcoming address by Acting Rector of Kutaisi International University, Professor Paata Turava, who congratulated the young graduates on completing their studies and wished them success. The audience was also addressed by: Mariam Lashkhi, Chairperson of the Parliament's Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee; Levan Ghirsiashvili, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; Professor Wolfgang A. Herrmann, President Emeritus of the Technical University of Munich and Honorary President of Kutaisi International University; Professor Gerhard Kramer, Executive Vice President of the Technical University of Munich; and Levan Kopaliani, Chancellor of KIU. KIU graduate Ani Rusieshvili also shared her success story with the audience.

The ceremony was attended by Nikoloz Chkhetiani, Chairman of the Board of the International Charitable Foundation "Cartu"; Vakhtang Tsagareli, Director of Kutaisi University Campus; heads of Kutaisi International University schools; Georgian and international professors at KIU; representatives of the executive, legislative and local authorities; students and their family members; rectors of various higher education institutions, and other invited guests.

KIU graduates are distinguished by their academic achievements. KIU facilitates their professional and personal development, creating an innovative environment where young people have the opportunity to engage in various educational and research activities. Alongside their academic coursework, KIU students participate in conferences held at international technology hubs worldwide. Students establish international professional connections with representatives of leading technology companies and universities, familiarize themselves with industry trends, which significantly contributes to their career advancement.

KIU is continuously focused on ensuring access to high-quality European education and improving infrastructure and the academic environment. One of KIU's main advantages is its university campus, which encompasses modern academic and student residential buildings, a library, conference spaces, cafeterias, sports facilities and recreational zones. Construction of new infrastructure is ongoing in Kutaisi University Campus, including both administrative-educational and residential complexes.

Kutaisi International University (KIU) represents the largest charitable mega-project and the only international state higher education institution established in the history of independent Georgia. The idea for the university belongs to Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family. The International Charitable Foundation "Cartu" is investing one billion euros in the development of the university.
