Kutaisi International University and Andersen Georgia Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Kutaisi International University (KIU) hosted representatives of the international legal consulting company Andersen Georgia. As part of the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between KIU and Andersen Georgia, which aims to support the professional and career development of students.

The document was signed by the Acting Rector of Kutaisi International University, Professor Paata Turava, and the Director of Andersen Georgia, Giorgi Svanadze.

According to the memorandum, KIU students will have a unique opportunity to undergo an internship at one of the leading legal and consulting companies. In addition, the parties will cooperate within the framework of KIU’s new bachelor’s program, “Law,” which, in turn, includes the promotion of both educational and scientific research activities. Andersen Georgia lawyers, in order to share their experience, will also conduct public lectures for KIU students of various levels.

After the signing of the memorandum, a meeting was held at KIU, organized by Andersen Georgia, which was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, as well as business companies.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Acting Rector of Kutaisi International University, Professor Paata Turava, presented a report on the activities of the university, new educational programs, and the promotion of students’ career development.

Andersen Georgia representatives also held a presentation in Kutaisi about the plans and future activities of the newly opened office. A training was held for all interested parties, which was dedicated to discussing labor and tax issues, such as: "Liability and Risk Insurance in Labor Relations – Practical Aspects and Tips"; "Tax and Legal Issues – Taxation of Transactions between the Company and the Founder; Frequently Made Tax Mistakes."
