Kutaisi International University (KIU) is hosting Professor Mounir Haddou, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics at INSA Rennes. He is currently delivering a course titled Advanced Topics in Optimization (Nondifferentiable Optimization, Applications in Machine Learning Learning) as part of the KIU Bachelor of Mathematics program.

As part of his visit, a mini-workshop was held at the university. The event was opened by the Acting Rector of KIU, Professor Paata Turava, and attended by the Head of the School of Mathematics, Professor Ramaz Botchorishvili, along with academic staff from the school.

The Department of Mathematics at INSA Rennes offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree in collaboration with six French and four international universities.

Studying abroad is a mandatory component of the program, requiring at least one semester at a partner institution. The curriculum also includes a compulsory internship. The Department of Applied Mathematics at INSA Rennes collaborates with more than 100 French and international companies, providing students with internship opportunities.

The main goal of the workshop was to share INSA’s extensive experience, explore opportunities for collaboration between the universities, and promote student and academic staff mobility. Future cooperation on the development and implementation of joint programs was also discussed.

KIU continues to strengthen international partnerships and create new opportunities for its students.
