Kutaisi International University (KIU) recently organized a large-scale Open Day Event, which drew an unprecedented number of prospective students, parents, and guests. The event served as a platform for sharing comprehensive information about the university’s academic programs, student services, and institutional vision.
The Rector of KIU, Professor Giorgi Khubua, delivered a welcoming address in which he expressed appreciation for the participants’ interest and engagement. He presented an overview of the university’s upcoming initiatives for the 2025–2026 academic year and extended his best wishes to prospective students preparing for the Unified National Examinations.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with program coordinators, receive in-depth information about undergraduate programs, and participate in guided tours of the university campus. Current students also played an active role by sharing their experiences and offering campus tours, contributing to a comprehensive and interactive experience for visitors.
It is noteworthy that KIU is starting preparations for the 2025–2026 academic year with ambitious goals and academic innovations. New programs have been added to the university’s academic offerings. In particular, applicants now have the opportunity to earn a double degree in cooperation with the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) in Medicine (one-cycle program) and Design (three-year bachelor’s program). Additionally, a joint bachelor’s program in Psychology will be launched with the University of Bamberg (Germany). These programs offer international diploma recognition and strong career prospects.

Based on the average competition scores from recent Unified National Examinations, KIU ranks among the top higher education institutions in Georgia.
The university has also been recognized by European academic experts as one of the most rapidly developing and innovation-oriented higher education hubs in the South Caucasus region.
KIU offers academic programs aligned with European standards, developed in partnership with leading institutions, including the Technical University of Munich, University of Naples Federico II, University of Bamberg, and the Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau. Courses are delivered by both Georgian and international faculty members in Georgian and English.

The university was established by Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili and his family, and is supported by the Cartu International Charity Foundation, which has committed an investment of €1 billion for its development.
