“Kutaisi International University makes an outstanding impression with its modern infrastructure and strong focus on technological and scientific advancement. A key component of its large-scale, future-oriented vision is the development of a regional technology hub, which will offer innovative opportunities not only for students, but also for business enterprises and the private sector,” stated Fabian Ewald, President of the Bavarian Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, in an article published on the Association’s official website.
Fabian Ewald recently visited Georgia and delivered a public lecture at Kutaisi International University (KIU). In his assessment, Georgia is currently “undergoing a dynamic phase of development and is making significant efforts to align with European standards.”
The Association’s President expressed his desire to enhance economic, educational, and business cooperation with Georgia, which he believes will substantially support the implementation of the "Entrepreneurial University" concept. He also voiced particular interest in establishing a permanent Bavarian representation in Kutaisi, aiming to further deepen bilateral scientific and economic collaboration with Bavaria.
“Upon the invitation of Professor Giorgi Khubua, I had the honor of delivering a public lecture at Kutaisi International University before a high-level audience. The lecture, titled ‘The Business Metaverse in the International Environment’, was attended by professors, doctoral candidates, students, and representatives of the local business community,” said Ewald.
Speaking about KIU, Ewald highlighted that both the university and its leadership team showcased Georgia as a country with immense economic and educational potential—“a country that is open, forward-looking, and has clearly embraced a European orientation.”
“The newly established Kutaisi International University is situated on a vast 160-hectare campus, designed to eventually accommodate up to 30,000 students. I am sincerely grateful to the Rector for granting me the opportunity to speak at such a forward-thinking and internationally-oriented university. Immediately after the lecture, I received a follow-up invitation—which I gladly accepted. My next visit may well take place with an official delegation from Bavaria,” Ewald noted.
Bavaria is home to 614,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, where over 190,000 young people undertake internships each year.
