Kutaisi International University (KIU) and Tbilisi Huawei Tehcnologies Co have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The signing ceremony was opened by the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Aleksandre Tsuladze.
KIU Rector, Professor Giorgi Khubua, and Huawei Tbilisi Office Representative, Lu Penghong, also addressed the guests with welcoming remarks.

As part of the memorandum, KIU will become the first higher education institution in Georgia to host the “Huawei ICT Academy,” with the university gradually developing into a technological hub for the region.
KIU students and professors will gain access to the latest technologies, resources, and educational initiatives. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in international competitions and collaborate on projects with peers from leading universities worldwid.
Additionally, students will have the unique opportunity to intern at the global company Huawei, with the potential for future employment. Importantly, the Academy will offer KIU professors and instructors retraining programs led by foreign experts.
The event was also attended by Giorgi Jincharadze, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; Levan Zalkaliani, State Representative of the Imereti Region, representatives from the Cartu Foundation, and other invited guests.
