 09/12/2024

Another public lecture was held as part of the KIU Youth University initiative, which was opened by the Rector of Kutaisi International University (KIU), Professor Giorgi Khubua.

The lecture, titled "How much is a lot?" was delivered by Giorgi Nadareishvili, Assistant Professor at the Schools of Mathematics and Computer Science at Kutaisi International University. During the lecture, Giorgi Nadareishvili, along with the students, explored the concept of quantity and its extension to infinity, addressing the question of whether there are larger and smaller infinities.

The engaging public lecture sparked significant interest among young people. Around 500 students from grades 9-12 in schools across the Imereti region attended the event. The participants had the opportunity to gain insights into topics of interest and engage in discussions.

Kutaisi International University’s new project, the “KIU Youth University,” seeks to expand access to non-formal education for young people, cultivate curiosity, and instill a passion for learning. It also provides students with an early introduction to university life. The initiative is designed to develop critical thinking, creativity, and social skills, broaden career possibilities, and guide students in selecting their future professions.

The KIU Youth University targets students in grades 9-12 from schools in the Imereti region, offering public lectures on a wide range of stimulating topics. These lecture courses are taught by both KIU faculty and guest speakers.
