Kutaisi International University (KIU) held the opening ceremony of the Youth University. As part of the project, KIU's Rector, Professor Giorgi Khubua, delivered the first public lecture on the topic "What is Justice?".
Giorgi Khubua addressed the students with welcome speech, providing detailed information about the new Youth University project and expressing his gratitude for their enthusiastic participation. In his remarks, the Rector emphasized that KIU will offer many more engaging activities for young people, designed to help them gain valuable experiences as they integrate into university life.
The first public lecture was attended by over 400 students from the 9th to 12th grades of schools across the Imereti region. The students had the opportunity to learn about topics of interest to them, engage in thoughtful discussions, and share their perspectives.
Following the lecture, the students took a guided tour of the university campus, where they explored KIU's technology-driven educational ecosystem. They had the chance to visit the fully equipped living spaces, cafeteria, library, and co-work spaces. The tour also showcased the university's interactive learning management system and infrastructure, all of which play a key role in supporting high-quality education and advanced scientific research.
Representatives from the schools of the Imereti region participated in the event.
The project aims to enhance access to non-formal education for young people, fostering curiosity and a passion for learning. By introducing students to university life at an early age, the initiative seeks to cultivate curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and social skills. Additionally, it provides students with opportunities to broaden their career horizons and make more informed decisions about their future professions.
