Kutaisi International University and the British Council are launching cooperation

Kutaisi International University (KIU) and the British Council have signed a long-term memorandum of cooperation. As a result, students of Kutaisi International University are given a unique opportunity to improve their English language skills and improve the skills that will help them to master their specialties in foreign language. The focus will be on learning of technical English language required in the field of Engineering, Technology and Science (STEM). The aim of mutual cooperation is to enable students to master the technical fields in English. In addition, excellent students will receive a British Council International Certificate in English. From October 5 of this year, the teachers of the British Council will start teaching English online for the students of Kutaisi International University. The program was specially designed to meet the requirements of KIU, and later, trainers will be able to continue the learning process on campus.

British Council

The British Council has been successfully teaching English for over 80 years in various countries around the world, it has excellent experience of working with universities in Spain, Mexico, Thailand, Japan; the collaboration is tailored to the needs and priorities of a particular country and university. In addition to teaching English, the British Council has successfully administered international examinations (IELTS, Aptis, Cambridge Assessment English, etc.), as well as art projects. The participants of these programs have won recognition in many international competitions.

Kutaisi International University

The campus of Kutaisi International University (KIU) is located in Kutaisi, in the environmentally clean area; it is spread out on 158 hectares of land and includes an ultra-modern academic building, library, cafeteria, well-equipped sports and road infrastructure, shared workspaces, student dormitories, as well as accommodation for academic and administrative staff. The development and construction of the university campus is being developed gradually and is funded by the International Charity Foundation "Cartu”.

This year Kutaisi International University (KIU) admitted the first batch of students. According to the average score of the Unified National Examinations, KIU is the number one public (state) university in Georgia today. The educational process at the university has started online and will continue on campus soon.
