A memorandum of cooperation was signed on July 28 at Kutaisi International University between KIU, State Audit Service and Public Audit Institute.
The Memorandum was signed by: Georgia’s Auditor General Irakli Mekvabishvili, Director of the Public Audit Institute Gela Tsiklauri and Rector of Kutaisi International University Alexandre Tevzadze.
The purpose of the trilateral memorandum is to give students and employees of the University an opportunity to develop practical skills in public audit and become competitive in the labor market.
Within the framework of mutual cooperation, the parties focused on certification of auditors, training courses, seminars and research activities in the public sector. One of the main goals of the memorandum will be the active involvement of students in this process. Several events and activities are planned for the future.
Rector Alexandre Tevzadze commented: “The University welcomes such initiatives and cooperation. KIU's participation in this project is very important, as it will contribute to the future employment and career development of students. It will allow young people to gain new experience and knowledge while studying.”
“It is very important to sign such a memorandum with Kutaisi International University. Further cooperation will be very useful and interesting for both parties. In the future, audit programs will also give KIU students the opportunity to deepen their professional knowledge and gain experience,” said Gela Tsiklauri during the meeting with the KIU team.
At the end of the event the guests toured the educational and residential buildings of KIU. As part of the visit, they met with the University’s academic team and KIU student-ambassadors.
