 04/06/2022

A two-day student conference – “Economics, Business and Management” - was held at the School of Management of Kutaisi International University on June 1 and 2, 2022. 22 first- and second-year students in the management program participated in it. The conference was preceded by a long and arduous preparation process, which the young people coped with successfully with the help of the academic and support staff. The students conducted research, prepared topics and spoke to the audience. The event was attended by Natia Zedginidze, Head of the Management Program, foreign and Georgian professors, representatives of the School of Management and students of the school.

As the Head of the Management Program, Natia Zedginidze noted, during 2 days the school hosted  a very interesting, productive and what is more,  an important conference for the students. According to her, this event has become a tradition, and is held every semester. The aim of the conference is to develop students' research and presentation skills and to gain new knowledge through research and scientific work.

“Before the students reported  at the conference, they went through several major stages, including: under the mentoring of foreign  and Georgian professors, they prepared topics, abstracts, which underwent appropriate quality monitoring, after which they were allowed to give a presentation. As a result of these conferences, students develop a certain interest in future research topics, acquire knowledge and necessary skills. I think that the experience gained in this process will help them choose, define their future profession, especially with regard to concentrations, to better shape - in which direction, with which concentration they want to complete the KIU management program. I also note that the Bachelor of Management program includes 5 concentrations: Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Finance and Accounting, Economics and Policy, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Leadership and Strategy. I would like to wish success to the young people and express my gratitude to the academic and support staff who played a special role in the successful and high-quality implementation of the event,” said Natia Zedginidze, head of the KIU Management Program.

The two-day conference at KIU was held in hybrid mode. At the end of the event, students were presented with certificates.
