Finals of KIU π-DAY Math CONTEST 2022, dedicated to the International Day of Mathematics, was held at Kutaisi International University. A total of 200 high school seniors registered for the competition and 39 young people moved on to the final stage, 19 of whom came to campus and took part in the final competition. The competition problems were compiled or adapted by KIU students and selected on the basis of competition among students. Correction of the works is also provided by the students themselves.
Based on the results obtained in the final competition, winners and holders of diplomas of I, II, III degrees will be determined, who will be awarded prizes in a festive atmosphere.
This contest is held for the second year on the initiative and organization of KIU School of Mathematics and is attended by advanced and talented high school graduates. The competition is particularly prestigious and popular for students from schools with a strong STEM focus.
International Day of Mathematics is celebrated annually on 14 March by the decision of UNESCO of 26 November 2019. KIU π-DAY is registered on the International Mathematical Union interactive project map.
After the competition, the KIU ambassadors gave the finalists a tour of the University campus, teaching, living and recreational facilities.
