Israeli Ambassador to Georgia Ran Gidor visited Kutaisi International University as a guest on April 13. During the visit, the delegation met with students, university administration, the rector and deans of the faculties, and the ambassador gave a public lecture about the 30-year diplomatic partnership between Israel and Georgia.

The year 2022 will mark 30 years of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Israel. Ambassador Gidor met with KIU students and spoke about Israel-Georgia cooperation, Israeli history, priorities and achievements in technology and human capital development. The students had the opportunity to learn about the long-term friendly, strategic relationship between Georgia and Israel and get answers to their questions.

According to Magda Magradze, Chancellor  of Kutaisi International University, such high-level visits, public lectures and deepening cooperation with strategic partners are important for the University.

“We viewed the prospect of future cooperation between Israeli universities, research centers, industry and KIU. We discussed Israel's support and cooperation in innovation, research and teaching, as well as other areas where KIU can be involved in the future,” said Magda Magradze, Chancellor  of Kutaisi International University.

“I am honored to be a guest of Kutaisi International University. I heard a lot about this University. I am very impressed by the university complex, students and the quality of programs which are implemented at Kutaisi International University. Israel is one of the leading countries in the world in the field of technology, so it was interesting for us to discuss what kind of cooperation we can establish with KIU in the future,” said Israeli Ambassador to Georgia Ran Gidor.

After the Ambassador’s public lecture, members of the delegation toured the KIU campus, seeing modern laboratories, common work spaces, library, academic building, student dormitories and other campus infrastructure.
