Admission Process
Admission process includes Doctoral Interview with the Doctoral Committee of the program (e.g., oral examination).
Documents to be submitted to the KIU Doctoral School before the doctoral interview include the following:
• Support Letter from Prospective Supervisors
• Research Proposal (indicating research topic form the list of topics of the doctoral program)
• CV
• Proof of Educational Requirements
- Prerequisite Degrees for the Doctoral Program
- Academic Record of GPA (not less than 2.5) at the Master degree program level,
- English Language Certificate (B2 Level), or Language Examination Test
• Doctoral Funding Declaration

2. Research Grant Funding
3. Funding Agreements with Industry or Private Sector
Prerequisites For The Admission
Prerequisite degree for the admission to the doctoral program in Physics is the following:
1. MSc in Physics
or
BSc in Physics and additional degree requirement including one of the following degrees:
MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, MSc in Mathematics, MSc in Computer Science, MSc in Informatics, MSc in Biology, MSc in Chemistry, MSc in Earth Science, MSc in Engineering.
2. Additional formal requirements include the following:
• Doctoral candidates have not been awarded the degree offered by the Doctoral Program previously;
• Doctoral candidates have not irrevocably failed a previous doctoral program for the same degree or for the same dissertation at KIU or another university;
• In case of the prerequisite degree obtained from the foreign university (outside Georgia) degree should be recognized according to the national regulations through the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement of Georgia (www.eqe.ge).
