General Structure of the Program:

The Embedded Computing Systems (ECSY) Master’s Program is implemented based on a flexible 1+1 model and provides two study tracks.

The one-year (60 ECTS) track is designed for students who complete their studies at Kutaisi International University (KIU). Within this track, students accumulate 60 ECTS credits during one academic year and, upon successful completion of the program, are awarded the academic degree of Master of Computer Engineering.

To complete the program, students are required to accumulate a total of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credits.

The curriculum consists of:

Compulsory block – 33 ECTS

Elective block – 14 ECTS

Mandatory Elective -3 ECTS

Practical Project – 10 ECTS

The compulsory block comprises fundamental courses in the field of Embedded Computing Systems.

The elective block consists of specialized courses that allow students to deepen their knowledge and competencies in selected areas.

Program Curriculum

The two-year (1+1) track is designed for students who continue their studies at the partner university — Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) — and aim to obtain a double degree. Within this track, students accumulate 120 ECTS credits over two academic years in accordance with the program requirements and the agreement in force between KIU and RPTU.

The 120 ECTS track may also be selected by students who intend to continue their studies at the doctoral level, taking into account the admission requirements of the relevant doctoral program and applicable regulations.

ECSY - two-years master’s program. A total of 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulations System) credit points must be acquired. The curriculum consists of:

core program (48 ECTS)

an elective program (29 ECTS)

mandatory elective program (3 ECTS)

practical project (10 ECTS)

a Master’s Thesis (30 ECTS)

The core program covers the fundamentals of embedded computing systems and offers an equivalent education in both institutions. The elective program reflects the specific profiles of the participating partner universities and their associated research institutes.

Program Curriculum

The first academic year comprises 60 ECTS credits and ensures the achievement of the program learning outcomes in the field of Embedded Computing Systems. Students who select the two-year track continue their studies during the second academic year and accumulate a total of 120 ECTS credits.
