Dr. Gvantsa Gugeshashvili is a leading scholar in the field of intellectual property law and one of the first legal academics in Georgia to defend a doctoral thesis dedicated to this discipline. She has been awarded multiple fellowships by the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, with which she continues to maintain a close and productive academic relationship.


She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and possesses extensive teaching experience in higher education, particularly in private law and intellectual property law.


Dr. Gugeshashvili has authored numerous scholarly publications and is actively involved in the translation of legal literature, primarily from English and French. Her work significantly contributes to the accessibility and dissemination of international legal scholarship within the Georgian academic community.


She collaborates with the International Center for Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) at the University of Strasbourg and is a member of the Georgian national group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
