 01/12/2022

On the initiative of the School of Management of Kutaisi International University, a new project - Podcast Competition was implemented at KIU.

Nine students/speakers of the Bachelor’s program in management took part in the championship. Each of them was evaluated by a jury according to predetermined criteria. There were three winners in the Podcast Championship (Fall 2022). First place went to Tsotne Khoriashvili, second to Elene Ioseliani and third to Nino Sadunishvili. All of the project participants worked intensively for several weeks on the presentation. The topics prepared by them were diverse and mixed. According to Professor Natia Zedginidze, Head of KIU School of Management, holding such championships at the University is of special significance; the project contributes to multifaceted development of students’ skills. According to her, the competitions will be held regularly as part of the School of Management.

“We have implemented a new project - PODCAST Competition - as part of the Kutaisi International University School of Management. The aim of the project is to help students develop skills such as: presentation skills, storytelling skills, the ability to convey and communicate their thoughts, views and opinions to the target audience and others. The student speakers participating in the championship had the opportunity to present and share their experiences, conclusions, opinions with other students, talk about values, valuables, personal successes and failures.

It should be noted that the School of Management plans to hold the competition regularly, every semester, moreover, we would like to hold a nationwide podcast championship among universities. Strategically, considering the interests of the students and the long-term possible outcomes of the project, it is important to broaden the scope of the project. In future, the best student podcaster of the year will be able to participate in the international podcast competition on behalf of the University,” said Professor Natia Zedginidze, head of the KIU School of Management.

There are many similar podcast championships around the world, and it is one of the best practices for a speaker to share their personal, professional, business experience and findings with the general public and thus help and support the aspirations of others.
